Vivien Isnard

Vivien Isnard est né en 1946 à Forges-les-Eaux
(France). Enseignant aux Beaux-arts de Tours, membre fondateur
du Groupe 70 qu'il quitte en 1973, il abandonne la théorie
radicale pour une figuration sensible où subsistent pourtant
les tressages et les quadrillages qui ont architecturé
ses premiers travaux. Quelle que soit la période, abstraite
ou figurative, l'œuvre que la dynamique du geste construit
reste toujours d'une grande sensibilité chromatique.
Vivien Isnard was born in 1946 with Forges-les-Eaux, France.
Teaching in the Art schools of Tours, a founding member of Group
70 that he leaves in 1973, he gives up the radical theory for
figuration in which, however, the surface is braided as in his
earlier work. Whichever the period of his work, abstract or
figurative, his work is built on a dynamic gesture and has great
chromatic sensitivity.
